It’s Summer!

It’s been a beautiful summer so far, and here’s hoping everyone is well!

RHCNS may not be in session right now, but it doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy! July and August are usually when I start planning the curriculum for the upcoming year. I don’t like to do the same things over and over again; it’s a good time to review what worked and what didn’t, and research new ideas, theories and activities.

One of the challenges of “looping” with students (having them in consecutive years) is making sure the activities are not repetitive from the year before. With that in mind, we certainly would never say, “Thanksgiving? We did that last year!” So while some of the themes may be the same, the activities will be adjusted for the different ages and abilities.

Later this year will see the return of our geology museum, artist studies, and fun with musical instruments. (We’ll learn about the REAL ones, and not just triangles, drum and tambourines!) Jim Banks has already offered to bring back his violins!

We’ll look forward to visiting more community helpers, and increasing our nature exploration.

Of course, fun will be a primary ingredient in every lesson! They’ll have plenty of opportunities to Imagine, Create and Explore!

Parents, remember our “Meet Your Teacher” date! See you then!
